In order to provide best treatment to the gas victim patients and people at large, various medical devices and equipment, are being upgraded in BMHRC. For the painless cataract surgery, an advanced Phaco machine has arrived in the hospital.
Endoscopy machines required for the diagnosis and treatment of various gastrointestinal diseases, CUSA machines required for brain tumour surgery and C-Arm machines required in operation theatres have also been procured. Dr. Manisha Shrivastava, Director In-charge, BMHRC said that all these machines were available in BMHRC earlier also, but some of them are either very old or out of order.
For this reason, the need to purchase new machines was felt. A Phaco machine required for cataract surgery has arrived. Through this machine, cataract operation is done through a very small incision, hence the patient experiences little or no pain during and after the operation and is also discharged early from the hospital.
Dr Shrivastava said that the Endoscopy machine necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of various gastrointestinal diseases has also arrived.
The new Endoscopy machine is ultra-modern, which will not only enable procedures like Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, but will also facilitate the ERCP procedure for the treatment of CBD stones and diseases of gall bladder, pancreas and liver. The CUSA machine, helpful in removing brain tumors, spinal cord tumours and other delicate procedures of central nervous system has also arrived. Apart from this, two C-Arm machines which are used for surgical procedures in operation theatres, allowing the surgeon to see real time images of the operation area.
A Lithotripsy machine used to remove kidney stones and Harmonic Scalpel used in surgery have also been procured. Procured machines are – Endoscope, Phaco mahine, CUSA Machine, C-arm, Lithotripsy machine, Harmonic scalpel.
The undermentioned machines have arrived earlier- EMG—NCV machine, Digital EEG Video Machine, Blood bank refrigerator, Steam Stabilizers, aser diode machine.
