Bokaro Steel Plant, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers India and the Indian Ceramic Society, is set to host a two-day international conference on refractories on April 12-13, 2024.
Dubbed as "IRFIS-4.0," the second international conference will revolve around the theme of "Advancements in Refractories in the Iron and Steel Industry Through Nano-technology and Sustainable Solutions."
The conference aims to delve into critical aspects of the refractory sector, including fostering self-reliance in the country, leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies for cost-effective and high-quality refractory production, and fostering discussions on mutual interests between the steel and refractory industries to chart a roadmap for the future.
Distinguished guests at the conference include Atanu Bhomik, Director-in-Charge of Rourkela Steel Plant and additional in-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, Beirendra Kumar Tiwari, Executive Director (Works) of Bokaro Steel Plant, and Dr. Chako Jacob, Professor at IIT Kharagpur, along with Dr. Deepak Jain, Director of FAIAI, as special guests. V.P. Upadhyay, Chief General Manager (Refractories), will preside over the conference.
Through in-depth discussions and interactive sessions, participants will explore innovative solutions, best practices, and emerging trends that can shape the trajectory of the refractory industry. Moreover, the exchange of ideas and experiences among industry stakeholders will not only foster mutual learning but also pave the way for collective action towards enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of the sector.
