Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday said that his government stood firm against Naxalites in the state.

Sai was speaking to the media after the nomination rally of BJP candidate from Mahasamund Roopkumari Choudhary.

On the killing of Maoists on Tuesday, Sai said the security camps had now turned into facility camps (Suvidha Kendras) and are providing basic facilities to tribal people in Bastar region. He said bodies of 13 Naxalites have been recovered, "which proves the bravery of our security personnel... (It) depicts their high morale,” he said.

He said his government had launched the Niyad Nellanar scheme to develop basic infrastructure to financially empower people in the tribal region.

The initiative extends essential services and welfare benefits through security camps in Bastar.

The ambit of these benefits is extended to villages within a five-km radius of the security camps.
