In a bid to provide free and fair elections, surveillance teams have seized illegal cash and goods worth Rs. 30.47 crore as of April 1 in Chhattisgarh, an official communiqué said on Tuesday.
The seizures include Rs 9.11 crore in cash, 24,226 liters of liquor valued at Rs 56 lakh, 885.80 kg of narcotics valued at Rs 1.6 crore, 24.16 kg of precious metals worth Rs 1.64 crore and other goods worth Rs 17.58 crore.
The seizures took place after the model code of conduct was imposed ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Over four lakh political publicity materials have also been removed.
