CBSE Class X, XII results: Delhi Government school students shine

About 97 per cent of class 12 students and 94 per cent of class 10 students in Delhi Government schools passed the exams surpassing its own previous records and above the national average. The CBSE results of both the classes were announced on Monday.  The result of government schools of Delhi has been 96.99 per cent, whereas the result of CBSE 12th in the entire country has been 87.98%. The performance of Delhi government schools in CBSE 10th board has been 94.2%, which is 8.36% more than last year.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday lauded the state government-run schools for outshining their previous year CBSE class 12th results and securing a pass percentage of 96.99 per cent this year as compared to 91.59 per cent recorded last year. Taking to X, the chief minister, who is out on an interim bail till June 1 to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, congratulated the students, teachers and their parents for the "spectacular" performance.

"Delhi government schools have got a fantastic result of 96.99%, in the Class 12 CBSE exam! Not only does this surpass our own performance of last year, but it surpasses the CBSE national average as well...Congratulations to all students, teachers, parents and the entire Education Dept for this spectacular performance," he wrote.  The chief minister also shared data on the Delhi government's previous year performance stating that in 2022-23, the state government-run schools recorded a pass percentage of 91.59 per cent.   He added that the performance of the Delhi government schools in the CBSE class 12 results for 2023-24 surpasses the national average of 87.98 per cent.

Delhi Education Minister Atishi also congratulated all the students, teachers and parents and said, “Once again Delhi government schools have proved that they are top in the country. It is the result of Delhi's education revolution and the hard work of our teachers and students that the results of the Kejriwal government schools are higher than government schools across the country.”

She said that due to the wonderful changes that have taken place in Delhi Government schools in the past, the trust of parents towards Delhi Government schools is increasing year by year. “The Kejriwal government is continuously making efforts to maintain this trust of the parents and under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, we are providing quality education to every child studying in our schools,” Atishi said.

Giving a message to the children who have not been able to pass the examination, the Delhi Minister said that those children who for some reason could not pass the main examination should not be disappointed but should work hard and try to improve their results.

A total of 1,51,429 children of government schools appeared in the 12th board examination out of which 1,46,885 children passed the examination. The result of class 12th has been 96.99 per cent, which is 5.4 per cent higher than last year's 91.59 per cent and more than 9 per cent higher than the CBSE national average.

The result of 307 schools of Delhi Government has been 100 percent, which has increased by two and a half times compared to 118 last year. The result of 863 schools was more than 90 per cent in 2024 while last year, the results of 647 schools of the Kejriwal government were more than 90%.

In the 10th board results, the result of the Kejriwal government schools has been 94.2 per cent, 8.36 per cent more than last year's 85.84% and 7.48 per cent more than the average 86.72 per cent scored by government schools across the country.

A total of 1,64,996 students appeared in the CBSE 10th board examination out of which 1,55,442 children passed, 9,449 children got compartment and 105 students failed. The results will further improve after the compartment exam.

The 10th board result in 2024 has been 100 percent in 327 schools of the Kejriwal government while last year this number stood at 124. Also, there are 843 schools where the result of children is more than 90 per cent which is up from 528 schools in 2023.

RD Public school in Krishan Vihar and RDIS school in Sector 21 Rohini achieved 100 per cent results this year in the class 12th as well as in class 10th. In class 12th, Zainab, Dhriti, Arpit, and Tiya created history by securing full marks and performing brilliantly. In class 10th, Hanshika, Aarav, Rakhi, Shivansh and Jiya created history. In RDIS school, Manish and Srishti of class 12 and Harshita and Jaivik of class 10 created history by their academic performance.
