BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo taunted the INDIA bloc leaders alleging that INDIA bloc leaders are shedding crocodile tears in the name of protecting the Constitution, but the reality is that people of this bloc have insulted the Constitution the greatest number of times.
Pratul said that the first amendment to the Constitution was done by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1951 when he was the Prime Minister of the interim government. Many restrictions were imposed on freedom of expression. Pratul said that in 1975, when Indira Gandhi lost the case in the Rajnarayan case, she suspended the entire Constitution and imposed emergency in the country. People's fundamental rights were snatched away. In the name of population control, forceful sterilization started. In 1976, Indira Gandhi made the biggest change in the Constitution through the 42nd Amendment, in which 20% of the Constitution was changed. The powers of the State Government, Supreme Court, High Court were reduced and given to the PMO. The Supreme Court in the Minerva case, Its controversial provisions were repealed in the Union of India case.
Pratul said that after that, in 1986, Rajiv Gandhi changed the decision of the Supreme Court in Shah Bano case just for Muslim appeasement and went against the basic spirit of the Constitution and got the decision of the court overturned. Apart from this, freedom of the press is mentioned in the Constitution. But Rajiv Gandhi had tried to curb the press by bringing in a defamation MLA in 1988. Pratul said that Rahul Gandhi had insulted the country's Constitution in 2013 by publicly tearing the ordinance passed by the Cabinet of Parliament, born from the womb of the Constitution. Pratul said that Congress and its allies do not have faith in the Constitution of the country.
Pratul said that the central government crossed all limits of minority appeasement even during the UPA regime. Pratul said that it is clearly mentioned in the UPA government's outcome budget of 2013-14 that 15% of the budget amount will be used in different schemes for minorities.
He said that on the contrary, the basic mantra of Modi government is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. For Congress, minority means only Muslims. Because if Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians were also in their minority list, then they would not have opposed CAA.
Pratul said that today Congress is in alliance with CPM directly and indirectly in the entire country. Which has promised to remove Article 370 in its manifesto. Apart from this, CPM has played with the sovereignty of India by talking about CAA, ED and ending the stockpile of nuclear weapons. Pratul said that Congress has made efforts to implement its hidden agenda through its allies. No Congress leader has condemned this announcement of CPM.
