Congress alleges scam in Ahata allotment

Tuesday, 14 May 2024 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh Congress leader Sushil Anand Shukla on Monday accused the Vishnu Deo Sai government of committing a huge scam in the allotment of land for Ahatas to liquor vendors.

Speaking in Raipur, he said dozens of tenders using the same email ID have been approved.

Allotments have been approved on the recommendations of influential BJP leaders. Commissions are also being accepted to boost the sales of favoured manufacturers, he said.

He also said the government was promoting liquor sales by establishing air-conditioned Ahata premises.

He claimed that the Congress government had earlier during its tenure had closed down more than 100 liquor shops in the state.
