DC holds meeting ahead of Ram Navami and Eid

A review meeting of law and order was held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Tuesday to ensure that Ram Navami and Eid were celebrated peacefully and with mutual harmony.This meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay and Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Singh.While addressing the officials present in the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, Nancy Sahay said that the code of conduct is in force in the district regarding the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and it is also an important responsibility to conduct the Ram Navami festival in a successful and peaceful manner.

The DC directed all the line departments like Drinking Water Department, Electricity Department, Health Department, Fire Safety, Municipal Corporation to remain alert regarding Ram Navami festival.Keeping in mind the summer season, he directed the Drinking Water Department to improve the drinking water supply in urban and rural areas and speed up the repair work by assessing the damaged water pipes falling in the route lines.

At the same time, the electricity department was instructed to make arrangements for power cuts, power supply to cities and rural areas, and dangling wires at various places.In case of any accident during festivals, the Civil Surgeon was instructed to keep the health centers of all the blocks in working condition.Instructed to maintain cleanliness in municipal corporation areas, keep toilets on procession routes functional and improve drinking water places.Like every time, this time also instructions were given to arrange iron barricades in the procession routes.

The DC directed to keep the preparations complete by improving the response time, communication plan, medical plan etc.Instructed the Excise Department to take action against illegal liquor including verifying the procession routes.She talked about videography, CCTV monitoring, putting up posters of do's and don'ts etc. during the procession.She said that there will be a complete ban on DJs playing during the procession, and it is necessary to get complete certification of the songs played during the procession by the administration.She said that no change of any kind will be allowed in the route and directed that no stone will be left unturned in the establishment of traffic plan, fire brigade location, medical camp etc.She said that officers should ensure that there is no violation of any kind of model code of conduct.

The Superintendent of Police, Arvind Kumar Singh instructed all the police station in-charges present to take 107 action against the suspects in their respective areas.Keeping in mind the action taken in the past, he directed to keep all the preparations in order.Instructed to make arrangements for adequate lighting on the route line.He directed to hold a peace committee meeting at the block level.He said that the possibility of anti-social elements spoiling the atmosphere during the festival cannot be ruled out.Therefore, it is necessary to take action against previously suspected persons under Section 107.He also directed to ensure qualitative action instead of quantitative action.He said that the activities of the procession will be monitored through drones/CCTV cameras and videography will also be done as per requirement.At the same time, immediate action will be ensured against the administrators and related persons who misuse social media, make misleading and inflammatory posts.The Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the upcoming festivals, a detailed joint order will be issued and it will be necessary to ensure compliance with the above guidelines by all deputed magistrates and officials.In view of the festival, many topics were discussed in depth in the meeting.

He directed all the Block Development Officers/Zonal Officers to coordinate with the Medical Officer in-charge and ensure availability of 24×7 ambulance, essential life saving medicines etc. in the health centers under their area.Also, the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sadar and Barhi, along with the Zonal Officer of their sub-division, reviewed and visited the sensitive areas and assessed the situation and directed them to ensure legal action.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Control Room will remain operational 24×7, all the deputed magistrates and police officers will be present in their respective shifts.Any type of information received in the control room should be taken immediate cognizance.

He directed all the BDOs/COs of the district to ensure peace committee meetings at the block/panchayat/village level in their respective areas.In the meeting, in view of the heat, instructions were given to provide drinking water, alternative lighting, to keep the fire brigade active during the procession, to make timely repairs to the hanging electrical wires in the procession routes and urban areas.Municipal Commissioner Shailesh Kumar, SDO Sadar/Barhi, District Level Officer, SDPO Subhashish Kumar, Assistant Collector Sulochana Meena, all Circle Officers, Block Development Officer, Police Station Incharge and many others were present in the meeting.
