Employees to agitate demanding implentation of contract policy

f the government does not implement the contract policy by June 30, then there will be a big agitation in July.' This warning has been given by the electricity workers of Madhya Pradesh. On Monday, they also held a symbolic demonstration in Bhopal.

As soon as the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections ended, the employee organizations have started coming out in the field with their demands. It started from Monday.

Under the banner of United Forum for Employees and Engineers, the electricity workers held a symbolic demonstration outside the office of the power company located in MP Nagar, Bhopal.

Organization president VKS Parihar said, the contract policy should be implemented in June. If this does not happen, the contract workers of the entire state will take to the streets to protest in July.

Former CM Shivraj had called a Mahapanchayat in 2023

The officials of the organization said that former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had called a Mahapanchayat of many departments before the Assembly Elections-2023 and the demands of the employees were fulfilled.

On July 4, 2023, a Mahapanchayat of contract employees was also called at Lal Parade Ground. In which he praised the hard work of the Energy Department from the stage itself.

Understanding the difficulties faced by contract employees, an announcement was made for them. On July 22, the Contract Policy-2023 was approved by the Cabinet. The new contract policy was implemented actively in most of the departments. On the other hand, 6 thousand contract officers and employees working in the power company have been waiting for the policy to be implemented for 11 months.

Organization's media in-charge Lokendra Srivastava said, during the meeting with Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar and Managing Director of Power Management, it was clearly said that after amending the contract policy, the policy should be issued soon, but even after 11 months this has not happened.

United Forum Madhya Kshetra Company Convenor RS Kushwaha said, the contract policy was issued in July 2023, but it was not implemented. Eight employees have died while working in the power company. Till date, compassionate appointment has not been provided to their families. Contract workers are paying for the wrong policies of power companies.

President Parihar said, correspondence has been made to the Principal Secretary Energy and Managing Director of Power Management. It has been requested in the letter that by the end of the month of June, the Contract Policy 2023 should be issued by adding the necessary amendments including dearness allowance and annual salary increment. If this does not happen, all the contract officers and employees of the state will come to Bhopal in the first week of July and hold a big demonstration.

During the demonstration in Bhopal, Mukesh Verma, Akhilesh Suryavanshi, Shivam Lakhera, Sanjay Baghel, Varun Namdev, Hemant Verma, Durgesh Dubey, Prashant Pal, Kuldeep Khandekar, Omprakash Mudia, Chandramani Gajbhiye, Rohit Lal, Pawan Jaiswal, Naman Tripathi, Anoop Saini, Pratap Darbar of the organization were present.
