Enactus Shines at PU’s 13th Rose Festival

Amidst the vibrant hues and fragrant blossoms of the 13th Rose Festival at Panjab University, Enactus Panjab University stood out with its impactful stall, showcasing products crafted by underprivileged communities.

 

Partnering with Developing Indigenous Resources-India (DIR-India), Versatile Enterprises Private Limited, and Corporate Sustainability Council, Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CSC WICCI), Chandigarh, the ENACTUS team displayed a range of socially conscious products, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.

 

Prof Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team and State Vice President of CSC WICCI, Chandigarh, expressed her delight at the team's participation, highlighting their commitment to social entrepreneurship and impactful initiatives.

 

Visiting the stall, PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig commended the Enactus team's efforts, acknowledging their consistent societal outreach activities and the accolades they've garnered nationally and internationally.

 

Aman Sagar, Director of Operations for Enactus, detailed the array of products on display, including pottery items from Project Dhra, eco-friendly reusable cloth-based sanitary napkins from Project Uday, and innovative dhoop made from waste flowers collected by the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, under a collaborative project with Enactus.

 

Shubham Dhiman, President of Enactus, revealed the overwhelming response to the stall, with brisk sales generating funds for the respective project communities. Visitors were captivated by the dhoop made from waste flowers and educated about the benefits of cloth-based sanitary napkins, turning the stall into a vibrant hub of creativity and impact.

 

In addition to the Enactus stall, the festival featured competitions such as Rose Prince and Rose Princess and Fancy Dress, adding to the festive atmosphere. Prof Rumina Sethi, Dean of University Instruction, Panjab University, crowned the winners, celebrating the spirit of joy and camaraderie that permeated the event.

 

As the sun set, the evening unfolded with a mesmerizing performance by Punjabi singer Raza Heer and Himachali Nati at the Old Convocation Ground, bringing a perfect conclusion to a weekend filled with community, celebration, and social consciousness.
