Girl ends life after cancellation of recruitment exams

After Kannauj, in yet another incident, a girl committed suicide in Firozabad city after she became depressed over the cancellation of recruitment exams.

The family members of the victim, Varsha, claimed that she committed suicide after the police recruitment examinations were cancelled following paper leak.

Earlier this week, a youth in Kannauj had ended his life, leaving a suicide note in which he claimed that he was depressed for not getting job so he decided to tear all degrees and was going to end his life.

Varsha, a student who had also been a NCC cadet, was preparing for the Uttar Pradesh police recruitment exam. Varsha's brother Prashant Kumar said she was also preparing for the SSC exam for a government job.

She was very depressed when on Saturday, after the cancellation of the police recruitment examination, the examination for recruitment of assistant review officer and review officer was also cancelled by the government. Depressed by what happened, she ended her life on Saturday night.

During investigation, police recovered a suicide note in which she mentioned her failure to secure a government job.

Meanwhile in Kaushambi, tragedy struck a wedding procession after three people, including a brother duo, were electrocuted after a DJ speaker came in contact with an overhead high tension wire in a village, police said on Sunday morning.

The incident took place on Saturday night during a marriage procession in Duhniapur village in Kaushambi police station area, Circle Officer Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma said.

The DJ speaker placed on a trolley was being pulled when it accidentally touched the high tension line, the CO said. 

Two brothers, Ravi (20) and Rajesh (18), and a labourer Satish (18) who were near the speaker were electrocuted to death, the police officer said.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem.

In another shocking incident in Fatehpur,  an elderly couple died after the wall of a brick kiln collapsed and fell on them on Saturday, while two other women were injured, police said.

Gazipur police station in-charge Inspector Manoj Kumar said that a wall of the brick kiln suddenly collapsed in the Chak Allipur village, and a couple and two women collecting coal there were buried under the rubble.

Kumar said that all four were pulled out from the rubble and taken to hospital, where Munnilal (60) and his wife Rajrani (58) were pronounced dead.

Jagrani and Malti, who sustained injuries, are undergoing treatment.

The bodies of the couple were sent for post-mortem. 

The SHO said that during the rain on Friday, the wall of the brick kiln had developed a crack and it collapsed on Saturday.
