Gwalior police arrest notorious criminal after encounter

The Gwalior Police on Tuesday arrested a notorious criminal after a short encounter. The accused Komal Bhadkaria alias Bunty (33 years), of village Piparsana of Gohad in Bhind district, was currently living in Bahodapur in Gwalior district.

The accused has been booked for serious cases like murder and robbery are already registered against him in Old Cantonment, Padav and Bahodapur police stations.

Actually, a case of rape came to light on the night of 22 May in Kamal Singh's garden, near Bada Kuan, Shinde Ki Cantonment area under Inderganj police station area.

Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh had instructed Additional Superintendent of Police City (Central) Akhilesh Renwal to form teams of Inderganj police station and arrest the accused of rape.

Following the instructions of senior officers, Inderganj CSP Ashok Singh Jadaun and team after examining several CCTV footages, the police identified the accused as Komal Bhadkaria.

Meanwhile, on May 27, the police of Inderganj police station received information from the informer that Komal was hiding in the forests of Panihar and Chinnor and was planning to escape from there. Three police teams reached Chinnor Road and Panihar police station was also called to the spot to surround the accused.

The police team found a suspect of the appearance seen in the CCTV footage standing at the place told by the informer, who was surrounded by the police team and an attempt was made to catch him.

On this he opened fire on the police team with a pistol, in which the police team narrowly escaped and the bullet hit the vehicle of Inderganj police station. The police team also retaliated by firing, in which the police bullet hit the miscreant's leg and he got injured and fell and was caught. The police team caught the miscreant.

Police have seized a 315 bore country-made pistol and a motorcycle from the spot. On receiving information about the encounter, Gwalior Superintendent of Police Singh immediately reached the spot and inspected. After this the injured accused was admitted to Trauma Center JAH Gwalior for treatment. The SP announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for the team that caught the accused in the encounter.
