IMD predicts heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across state

There is a possibility of rain in Jharkhand for the next six days. Ranchi Meteorological Center informed that there are chances of rain in Jharkhand till June 1. During this period the wind speed can be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm along with thunder. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding this.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature may drop by three to five degrees Celsius in the next two days. After this, there may be an increase of three to five degrees in the next three days. On May 27 also, there may be light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at some places in the north-eastern, central and southern parts of the state. During this period, there is a possibility of strong winds as well as thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Department also informed that there may be light rain with thunderstorms in eastern and central parts of Jharkhand on May 28. The weather department has issued a yellow alert regarding thunderstorms. Light to moderate rain may occur in north-eastern parts on 29th and 30th May and in eastern parts of Jharkhand on May 31 and June 1.

Cyclonic storm Remal is moving rapidly. On the night of May 26, it can hit the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh with a speed of 110 to 120 kilometers per hour. After which it can reach speed up to 135 kilometers per hour. In view of Cyclonic Storm Ramal, it has been decided to suspend flight operations over the coastal area of West Bengal including Kolkata from 12 noon on 26th May to 9pm on 27th May.

The impact of cyclonic storm 'Remal' will be seen in Jharkhand also. Ranchi Meteorological Center informed that from May 26 to May 31, there may be rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in many places of the State. The Department also informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the eastern, southern and central parts of the State on May 26 and 27.

There is also a forecast of strong winds during this period. Wind speed can be 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Its effect will be seen in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh districts.

There is a possibility of thunderstorm along with thunderstorm in many districts of Jharkhand from May 26. There may be thunderstorm at isolated places in the eastern part of the State on May 28. There will be thunderstorms and strong winds. During this period the wind speed is likely to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder at isolated places in the eastern parts of the state from May 28 to 31. Its effect will be seen in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra and Latehar districts. However, rain will continue in many districts of Jharkhand till May 31.

There is no possibility of any major change in the maximum temperature during the next 24 hours in Jharkhand. However, the temperature may drop by three to five degrees Celsius in the next two to three days. According to the weather centre, the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal will turn into a cyclonic storm by the morning of 26th May. It is moving in north-eastern direction. From midnight of 26th May, this storm will turn into a storm with a speed of 110 to 135 km per hour.
