JMM welcomes SC judgement in Chhattisgarh liquor scam case

Wednesday, 10 April 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The Supreme Court on Monday gave big relief to the accused in the case related to Chhattisgarh liquor scam. The apex court quashed the money laundering case against the accused. The Supreme Court said that the complaint was based on an offense under the Income Tax Act, it is not a scheduled offense as per PMLA. JMM expressed happiness over this decision of the Supreme Court.

JMM's General Secretary cum spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that comments were made about ED and the Congress government was destabilised by conspiracy in Chhattisgarh. The Supreme Court rejected the PMLA case regarding the liquor scam in Chhattisgarh. Now it has become clear that BJP has emerged as a kangaroo. And that is the bag the PM has taken with him. ED, CBI and corrupt people have been filled in this bag.

“This thing was caught by the Supreme Court and the Electoral Bond was proved wrong. Exactly the same thing happened with our leader Hemant Soren, when elections came near, he was put in jail so that he could not campaign. There was an IT raid on the Sahu family of the state and the PM posted on X social media platform. But nothing happened because he gave a full account of the money,” he said.

Bhattacharya said that an attempt was made to defame the character of Hemant Soren. And, when we caught him, he was picked up and put in jail. His voice cannot be silenced. Our leader was put in jail in order to allow mining by Adani. Now BJP's conspiracy has come to light. Many thanks to the Supreme Court for this, PM should give account of his work of 10 years. Also give information about corruption committed by him, said Bhattacharya.

Notably, the Supreme Court was hearing a plea by former IAS officer Anil Tuteja and his son Yash Tuteja against the agency's move to initiate a probe under PMLA on the basis of the income tax raid against them. ED is investigating the liquor scam that went on between 2019 and 2022. Money laundering case revealed in Income Tax Department charge sheet of 2022.
