LightHouse Project, Ranchi to be inaugurated soon

Joint Secretary-cum-Mission Director, Housing for All, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Kuldeep Narayan, in the auditorium of the Ministry of Jharkhand, reviewed the progress of implementation of Light House Project, Ranchi along with various components of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Jharkhand on Friday.

Prominent in this review meeting were Arva Rajkamal, Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Aditya Kumar Anand, Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, R. Gautam, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shailesh Aggarwal, Executive Director, BMPTC, Sheetal Kumari, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Ms. Abhilasha Kumari, Assistant Director, PMAY, Siddharth Sharma of construction agency Magicrete. The central team and state team of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban were present.

In the meeting, mainly the preparations related to the inauguration of the Central Government's ambitious project Light House Project, Ranchi were reviewed and necessary instructions were given. It was told by the Joint Secretary that the Light House Project, Ranchi will be constructed using the new and emerging technology 3D Volumetric Precast. The construction work of 1008 houses near Panchmukhi Temple, Dhurva has been completed using this technology in record time in India in just 18 months.

He urged the Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department to provide information about its technical aspects to the engineers of other departments, agencies involved in construction work, students of technical institutes and professors through workshops and exposures and to give wide publicity to it.

Satisfaction was expressed on the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban and instructions were given that the construction work of the houses under construction in various phases should be completed before the onset of monsoon. Along with this, he also directed the Urban Development and Housing Department to implement the project.

After the meeting, the Joint Secretary along with all the senior officials visited and inspected the Light House Project being built in Dhurwa, Ranchi. During the visit, instructions were given to the construction agency and Ranchi Municipal Corporation to start preparations for the house entry of the beneficiaries allotted houses in the project. It should be noted that under this project, construction of 1008 flats for the beneficiaries of economically weaker income group in Dhurwa, Ranchi has been completed. It has been done, which will be inaugurated soon.

During this time, Ranchi Municipal Corporation and the construction agency were directed to ensure 24-hour water supply along with the house entry of the beneficiaries. Also, instructions were given to speed up the process of electricity connection and meter installation of the beneficiaries under the project. In a meeting, instructions were given to form Resident Welfare Association and provide training and hand holding to the beneficiaries for the maintenance and upkeep of the project.
