In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in 2024, ensuring a peaceful environment and maintaining law and order are paramount. In this regard, a comprehensive inspection was conducted by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal in collaboration with the Superintendent of Police Rural Rishab Garg and Deputy Superintendent of Police Patmada. The inspection covered key clusters and booths in the Patmada, Bodam, and Kamalpur areas, along with the interstate checkpoint situated at the Kamalpur police station.

One of the significant outcomes of the inspection was the seizure of Rs 5.51 lakh in cash from a four-wheeler during the vehicle checking process. This confiscation underscores the effectiveness of the security measures implemented by law enforcement authorities in detecting and preventing unlawful activities that could potentially influence the electoral process.

The inspection, conducted with meticulous attention to detail, aimed at assessing the readiness of security personnel and ensuring stringent measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the electoral process. The team, led by the SSP and accompanied by other high-ranking officers, meticulously reviewed the security arrangements at various locations.

“During the inspection, special emphasis was placed on vehicle checking to curb the transportation of illegal items such as drugs, cash, and illicit liquor. The deputed personnel were briefed and given necessary instructions to conduct thorough checks of vehicles passing through the designated checkpoints. This proactive measure aimed to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and maintain public safety,” said an official.

In addition to confiscating illegal cash, the inspection served as a reminder of the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of citizens during the electoral period. By conducting thorough checks and maintaining a visible presence in key areas, the police authorities aim to instill confidence among voters and create a conducive environment for free and fair elections.

As the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 approach, the successful inspection conducted by the Senior Superintendent of Police and other officials underscores the proactive measures taken to safeguard the electoral process. By enforcing strict security protocols and cracking down on illegal activities, law enforcement agencies reaffirm their dedication to upholding democratic principles and ensuring the smooth conduct of elections. The seizure of illegal cash serves as a stern warning to those attempting to undermine the integrity of the electoral process, sending a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated.
