A man allegedly stabbed his wife over extramarital affair suspicion in the Nadi Sahi area of Rayagada district on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Basanti Behera, was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.
On the other hand, the accused, identified as Pradip Behera, absconded after committing the crime.
As per reports, a dispute was prevailing between the couple as the husband was suspecting his spouse of having an extramarital affair. A quarrel ensued between them over the matter in the morning, which took a violent turn as Pradip lost his cool and stabbed his wife with a knife.
Police started an investigation into the incident while efforts were on by cops to trace and apprehend the accused.
