Maoist with Rs 5L bounty surrenders

A Maoist carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakhs on his head surrendered to security forces in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh, police said on Tuesday.

Muchaki Mukesh alias Raja alias Ratan (35) on Monday turned himself in, citing disappointment with the Maoist ideology, Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavhan said.

He was a member as well as Jantana Sarkar president under the Malanger Area Committee of the outlawed Maoist group. He was involved in several Maoist incidents for the last 18 years.
