More than four lifts of the city's biggest hospital, State-level  hospital Hamidia are not working, the situation is such that patients have to climb 150 to 200 stairs. Since, it is the State level hospital, patients come here from all over the State.

In H1 block there is cardiology block, orthopedics, surgery along with OT on the 11th floor.

The Hamidia administration and PWD are indulged in blame game, where on one hand PWD says that Hamidia does not do the budget session on time and on the other hand, if Hamidia Hospital management is to be believed, then it claims that all types of budgets have been approved.

In Block 1 of Hamidia Hospital, there are total 13 lifts in Block 1 of Hamidia Hospital, out of which more than four lifts are closed. About a week before this, 12 out of 13 lifts were closed. This is the reason why many patients are forced to travel through stairs and ramps and patients have to take the help of stairs or ramps to reach the ward or ICU.

The newly built Block One has important departments including Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Orthopedic, Anesthesia, OT Complex, Surgery, Medicine, Psychiatry, ENT, Radio Diagnosis and others. Some time ago, a case of power outage at night was reported from this block. After which now it has come to light that the lift was faulty. During this time, elderly patients are facing the most problems.

Not only the patients but also the hospital staff are facing problems due to the closure of the lift. An employee of the cardiology department had undergone heart operation just a few days ago. The doctor has forbidden him from walking much. But when he was forced to come down the ramp from the ward. After getting down, he rested in the waiting area for about 15 minutes, only after which he became normal.

Talking about this, Hamidia Hospital Superintendent Sunit Tandon said that budget sanction has been done, this work has to be done by PWD. AS Chauhan, Executive Engineer of Electrical Services from PWD, said that actually you should ask this question to Hamidia, because the approval from there is not done on time. Both tender and allotment are delayed. Well, work is still being done. Soon all the lifts will be fine.
