No mishap reported in Blast Furnace: Tata Steel

Tata Steel has clarified that no mishap took place at the Blast Furnace of Tata Steel on Friday. In a press communique issued by the company said: " At around 9:30 AM (IST) l, Om Prakash Singh, a 32-year-old contractual worker employed by Ganesh Construction Company, was conducting routine water leakage checks with two colleagues at Iron Making Mechanical Maintenance of ‘C’ Blast Furnace.

 

During the inspection, he encountered a vent valve leak on the bustle main and climbed a staircase to assess the situation. Unfortunately, he became unconscious and fell on the platform, resulting in minor injury. Singh is currently receiving treatment at TMH Jamshedpur, where his condition is stable. The medical team expects his discharge soon.
