Paper leak: UPPRPB invites proof from candidates

Friday, 23 February 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

After Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s action on allegations of paper leaks in the State Police Constable Recruitment Examination, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has sought proof from the candidates.

The UPPRPB has asked the candidates to submit evidence of the paper leak till 6:00 pm on February 23.

Candidates can submit their proof regarding paper going viral before the examination, on the website uppbpb.gov.in issued by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.

Many candidates in UP have alleged that the papers of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination held on February 17 and 18 were leaked. Not only this, there has been a lot of uproar after Sunny Leone’s picture was printed on a student’s identity card. After this Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, taking this matter seriously, ordered the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate it.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi, UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board Chairperson Renuka Mishra has formed an investigation committee under the chairmanship of ADG Ashok Kumar Singh. This committee will investigate the complaint of paper leaks, irregularities in paper printing, late arrival of paper, Sunny Leone’s admit card issue. Further action will be taken based on the information found in the investigation report.

The Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has now also sought representations from the candidates along with proof. Candidates can submit their evidence regarding papers going viral before the examination, on the website uppbpb.gov.in issued by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. If the evidence is found true in the investigation, then further action will be taken.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the alleged paper leaks on February 17 and 18. They issued a statement confirming their preliminary findings, indicating that miscreants exploited Telegram’s edit feature to disseminate false claims of paper leaks for fraudulent purposes. The UPPRPB assured the public that they, along with UP Police, are actively monitoring these cases and conducting a thorough probe. They emphasised that the ongoing examination process is being conducted securely and without disruption.

It may be mentioned that Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav had raised questions regarding the police recruitment exam paper leaks. While sharing several news of paper leaks, he targeted the Yogi government and said, “The news of paper leak of all sessions of UP Police Recruitment Examination 2024 is spreading with screenshots on social media, due to which lakhs of unemployed youth are angry. Like other previous examinations, this time also the fear of paper being leaked in the name of providing employment is coming true and is coming out in the form of news.”

Former president of Congress, Rahul Gandhi during his ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra also prominently raised the issue of paper leaks including in the police recruitment exams and accused the Uttar Pradesh government of playing with the future of youths.
