PM Modi to intensify campaigning in UP

Tuesday, 02 April 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to intensify his campaigning in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections. In April, the prime minister plans to address a series of rallies across key districts of the state.

On April 6, Prime Minister Modi will address a rally in Saharanpur to garner support for his party ahead of the crucial poll. Later in the evening of the same day, he is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Ghaziabad and engage directly with the masses.

Continuing his electoral blitzkrieg, Prime Minister Modi is slated to address another rally in Pilibhit on April 9, further bolstering the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign machinery in the region.

Pilibhit is an important constituency for the BJP because the party has denied ticket to its sitting Lok Sabha member Varun Gandhi and has instead given the ticket to UP’s PWD Minister Jitin Prasada. It is to be seen whether Varun Gandhi will attend this rally.

Further solidifying his presence in UP, the prime minister is expected to visit Moradabad on April 16, where he will campaign to sway voters towards the BJP’s agenda.

The timing of these rallies is strategically planned as Uttar Pradesh gears up for the first phase of polling scheduled for April 19. With a significant number of Lok Sabha seats at stake, the state remains a battleground for political parties vying for power.

Prime Minister Modi’s extensive campaign itinerary underscores the significance of Uttar Pradesh in the larger political landscape of India. As the election fervour heightens, all eyes are on the outcome, which would significantly shape the country’s political trajectory.
