Cong does not even have candidates: Vij

Ambala: Haryana’s former Home and Health Minister Anil Vij on Sunday said that the Congress is struggling to find candidates in the state, and in the past 10 years, Congress has not had any organization. “In contrast, BJP has formed teams at national, state, district, constituency, ward, and booth levels, and BJP is a democratic party,” he said. Responding to the delay in announcing Congress candidates, BJP MLA from Ambala Cantonment told the reporters that Congress will field candidates when they have them. “They are just searching desperately,” he quipped, adding that he would “campaign with full force in my constituency. That's my responsibility”.

Cong’s fight is only to cross 40: Thakur slams INDIA bloc

Hamirpur: Claiming that the “corrupt coalition” of the opposition’s INDIA bloc will be wiped out in the Lok Sabha polls, the Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said that Congress’ fight is only to “cross 40 seats”. He said: “INDI alliance partners and these princes (Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav) want this (BJP to be reduced to 150 seats) but their intentions will never be fulfilled. They had come together before as well but the public had wiped them out. This time again, this coalition of corrupt people will be wiped out in Lok Sabha polls…I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that neither in 2014 nor in 2019, the public made you win. This time too, Congress' fight is only to cross 40, the public will bless BJP with absolute majority and to cross 400.”

Forget “murgi and bakri”, AAP yet to give compensation for crops as well: Warring

Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Sunday underscored the plight of state’s farmers under the governance of both the BJP-led Central Government and the AAP-led State Government. Emphasizing Congress party's steadfast commitment to agricultural prosperity, PPCC chief outlined the comprehensive guarantees aimed at securing the future of farming. Elaborating on AAP-led Punjab Government’s inadequacies, Warring said: “Despite pledging to ensure MSP for Moong dal, AAP Government has faltered, procuring a mere 11 per cent of the produce, thus backtracking on their commitments. This paltry procurement extends to other crops as well, exacerbating the plight of farmers who find their produce languishing in grain markets, susceptible to weather conditions such as rains and hailstorms.” Also highlighting the dearth of compensation for farmers amidst natural calamities, he asserted, “The floods witnessed in Punjab prompted lofty assurances from AAP Government, promising compensations for livestock losses alongside crop damages. However, these pledges remain unfulfilled, with disbursements falling significantly short of the promised amounts. It is lamentable that a party which boasted of facilitating MSP within minutes now feigns ignorance regarding the procedural intricacies of MSP implementation.”

BJP Govt’s all claims and promises turning out to be hollow, alleges Selja

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and All India Congress Committee’s general secretary Kumari Selja on Sunday alleged that the governments formed by the BJP in the Centre have failed once again to increase MSP of crops compared to the Congress. Neither the Vajpayee Government nor the Modi government, which has been in power for 10 years, addressed the concerns of farmers, she said. “Under the leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh, the Central Government presented evidence of being farmer-friendly by increasing the MSP of crops every year,” said Selja, adding that from 1999 to 2004 under BJP Government, there was a 14 per cent increase in the price of rice, as compared to 143 per cent under Congress Government. From 2014 to the present, the Modi Government has only increased the price of rice by 54.1 per cent, she pointed adding that the present BJP Government’s all claims regarding purchase and payment of mustard and wheat are turning out to be hollow.

People fed up from AAP Govt’s false promises, anti-people policies: BJP’s Sidhu

Bathinda: BJP’s candidate for Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency retired IAS Parampal Kaur Sidhu on Sunday asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is delivering food grains to every needy person in the country, while other parties are just making BJP's schemes their own and taking the photographs. Sidhu, during her election campaign, said that Punjab’s AAP Government is wasting people’s tax money by spending crores of rupees on advertisements. “Till date, people of Bathinda have neither got anything from the Congress nor from Akali Dal…In just two years, people has become upset with the false promises and anti-people policies of the Aam Aadmi Party also. People now only has expectations from Narendra Modi and the BJP government,” she said. Stating that BJP believes in development at grassroots, whereas other parties rely on false propaganda of development, Sidhu said that every citizen of Bathinda knew that AIMS and Central University have been established here by the Modi led Central Government…but some parties are trying to take credit for it.
