Restarting of Sindri plant will bring development in the region: CM

Saturday, 02 March 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Hindustan Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited Factory (HARL) located at Sindri in Dhanbad district in the presence of Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Champai Soren and other distinguished guests. On this occasion, the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of many development schemes related to railway, electricity and coal sectors worth about Rs 36 thousand crores was also completed.

The Chief Minister greeted the Prime Minister in the coal city Dhanbad and said that Jharkhand has to move forward. We have to improve this state. This state has to be rebuilt according to the changing times. I have full hope from the Prime Minister that he will fully support the state in taking Jharkhand forward.

Soren, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of HURL Factory, said that today is a historic day for Jharkhand. The resumption of the Sindri fertilizer factory will bring a big change in this area. A new door of development will open. When farmers do agriculture with modern technology and methods, the yield will increase. When food grain production increases, farmers will directly benefit from it. Their income will increase and they will become empowered.

The CM said that the geographical environment of Jharkhand is different in many ways compared to other regions of the country. On one hand, many minerals like iron, coal, bauxite and uranium are found in abundance here, while a large population of villagers is also dependent on farms and barns. In such a situation, a balance between the two is necessary for the proper development of the state. The CM said that we can strengthen this state by putting the tribals, indigenous people and farmers and labourers on their feet. The state government has been continuously working in this direction with full commitment.

The CM said that the government is continuously working to make the farmers self-reliant and empowered. Our effort is to ensure that every field has water throughout the year, so that farmers can do farming in a better way. For this, special work is being done on irrigation projects. Farmers are being motivated and trained to do agricultural work with modern technology. Many schemes are running for the welfare of farmers. In such a situation, when the yield in the fields will increase, we will become more self-sufficient in food grains.

He said that while farmers will benefit from the revival of Sindri fertilizer factory, new employment opportunities will also be created. The youth here will get direct and indirect employment on a large scale. This will bring prosperity to the area and strengthen the economy of the state.

On this occasion, Union Minister Arjun Munda, Dhanbad MP Pashupatinath Singh and Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Amar Kumar Bauri and many senior officials were present.
