Traffic advisory issued for PM’s Rudrapur visit today

Considering the huge rush expected during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Udham Singh Nagar’s Rudrapur on Tuesday, the have police issued a notification regarding changes in traffic routes which will be valid till the PM’s departure. The officials said that several routes will remain diverted from 7 AM onwards in Rudrapur. They informed that the entry of heavy vehicles will be banned in Rudrapur from 5 AM.  Entry of buses plying from SIIDCUL to Rudrapur city will also be prohibited from 7 AM till further orders. Informing about the parking arrangements, the officials said that drivers of the buses filled with people coming to attend the programme from Almora, Nainital and Haldwani areas will drop them at DD Chowk and return via Metropolis junction to Vikas Bhawan and park their vehicles in the Mandi’s parking. The drivers of smaller vehicles coming from these areas can park them on the grounds of the Irrigation department and the new Traffic Police Line. The buses coming from Kashipur, Jaspur, Bajpur and Rampur will be parked in Rudrapur’s Gandhi Park. After the said parking space is full, buses will be parked on the ground of Aditya Nath Jha Inter College. The small vehicles arriving from the said areas will be parked in the vacant space outside Gandhi Park. The drivers of buses arriving from Pithoragarh, Champawat, Khatima and Kichha will park their buses in the parking lot of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) office. After the said parking space gets full, buses will be parked in the vacant ground of the Municipal Corporation of Rudrapur (MCR). Besides this, the smaller vehicles will be parked in the vacant space near Aanchal Dairy. The Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC has directed all police stations in- charges to ensure compliance with these rules and take strict action against offenders.
