Two cars, 2 bikes damaged as pipiline bursts

The Narmada Water Supply pipe line burst at Retghat area situated between Kamala Park-VIP road late in the night on Monday.

A fountain of water started after a loud blast sound at 3 in the night. Due to this, the glasses of two cars broke, while two bikes were also damaged. Two shops were also flooded with water.

The municipal corporation team has been engaged in repair work since Tuesday morning. However, water supply may be disrupted in the areas connected to the Narmada line at night.

The Narmada  Water Supply pipe line  passes near the police post at Retghat. This line leaked at 3 in the night on Monday.

A resident of the area said, suddenly a loud sound of explosion was heard at 3 in the night which created panic in the locals. When we went to the spot, the Narmada line had leaked and water was flowing fast. The corporation was informed at night itself.

The corporation had stopped the supply in half an hour, but the water accumulated in the line kept flowing for two hours.

Cars were also parked at the place where the pipeline burst. Glass of two of these cars broke. Two bikes were also damaged. At the same time, water also filled in two cars nearby. Due to this, the goods were damaged.

Superintending engineer Udit Garg said, there was a leakage in the Narmada line at 3  in the night. The line was immediately closed. Water supply was done in the areas connected to the line at night. Repair work has been going on since this morning. Soon the leakage will be repaired and regular supply of water will be done.
