Two Maoists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Wednesday.
Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav told the media that the gun battle took place in a forest.
Security personnel were on an anti-Maoist operation when the fighting took place around 11 am. The bodies of two Maoists and weapons were recovered from the spot, the officer said.
With this incident, 118 Maoists have been killed this year by security forces in the state.
