Taking a step further to make Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) a world class institute, Director Dr GK Goswami, on Thursday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai.
Soon after reaching an agreement, Dr Goswami said that this MoU would further promote in-depth studies in research metrology as well as in various social and judicial subjects between the two institutes and the professors of both the institutes and students would be able to establish new records in the field of education by collaborating with other institutions.
“Along with this, it will also definitely help in making the general public aware of the benefits and uses of forensic science through the new area of community forensics prepared by UPSIFS. This will further improve the confidence of the general public in the judicial system,” he said.
Dr Goswami also said that this was the first MoU of UPSIFS with any important institute.
In order to bring more eminence for the institute in accordance as per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, more MoUs with prestigious institutions like IIT=Kanpur, IIT-Delhi, IITR-Lucknow, IIIT-Lucknow and IIMs will be signed in the coming days.
Through this MoU signed on Thursday in Mumbai, Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai will benefit from the experiences of other subjects, including research, from UPSIFS. The associated students and professors will be able to promote research work in the future.
Dr Goswami said that on this occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Tata Institute of Mumbai, Prof Manoj Kumar Tiwari along with Prof Arvind Tiwari, Prof Ashwani Kumar and others were present.
