Saturday, 18 May 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Hours after the shocking details of alleged assault on AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came out in public domain, a video has emerged that shows the AAP MP in an altercation with the house staff purportedly after the assault. The AAP from its twitter handle also posted the video stating “Truth of Swati Maliwal”.

The video, the authenticity of which has not been ascertained, where Maliwal could be seen arguing with security personnels at the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’ residence who were asking her to leave the place.

After breaking her silence on the issue on Thursday on X (formerly Twitter), AAP MP Swati Maliwal reacted to the video in a post by her social media handle and said, “Like every time, this time also this political hitman has started efforts to save himself. By getting his people to tweet and playing videos without any context, he thinks he can save himself by committing this crime.

Who makes a video of someone being beaten up? The truth will be revealed to everyone as soon as the CCTV footage of the house and the room is checked. Fall to whatever level you can, God is watching everything. One day everyone’s truth will come out in front of the world.”

The video shows the Maliwal in an argument with several security staff in Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. She was asked to leave, but Maliwal vehemently protested, asking them to wait for the police to come first.

Once, she could be heard using the term  ‘ganja’ (bald), which led to the security personnel asking her to not talk in such a manner.

In the beginning of the 52 seconds video, she said, “I will not, I will not.

I will do it. I will tell everyone about this.” Thereafter, she said that she will speak to the senior police officers right there and won’t leave till then.

The security personnel replied in Hindi, “Fine, but for now you leave.”

“No, whatever will need to happen, will happen here now. You do whatever you want to do. And I will take away your job too if you touch me,” Maliwal is heard saying in the video.

The security staff replied stating that they are humbly requesting her to leave the house.

“I have dialled up 112. Let the police come, then I will talk,” Swati Maliwal said. The staff said, “But they (the police) won’t come inside, right? We are only requesting.

You are a well-educated person. We won’t be throwing you out.”

Maliwal said that the police will come inside the residence.

Maliwal is also heard saying, “Yeh ganja sala. (This bald person),” which enraged the security staff standing there, who asked her not to use such a language.

In an FIR registered in the case on Thursday, Maliwal said, “Then when he realized that l had called the 112 number he went out of the room.

Again, Bibhav came back with the security personnel working at the main gate of the CM camp offices. They came and asked me to leave at the behest of Bibhav. I kept telling them that I was brutally beaten up and they should look at my condition and wait until the PCR police come. However, they asked me to leave the premises.

I was taken outside the CM residence and I sat briefly on the floor outside his house as I was in deep pain.”

The FIR states that she eventually managed to free herself and called the police. Maliwal claimed Bibhav Kumar threatened her, saying he “shall see to it” and he would “bury her”.
