Youth can improve voting percentage: CEO

Voter awareness closing ceremony, felicitation ceremony cum award distribution program was organized on Tuesday at Aryabhatta Auditorium of Ranchi University, Ranchi. The Chief Guest of the program was Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jharkhand,, K Ravi Kumar, He said that youth have played a big role in improving the voting percentage in the Lok Sabha elections and youth have helped in voter awareness.

 

The CEO said that the volunteers of Youth National Service Scheme (NSS) have been working to make people aware about voting. Said that on the day of voting, it is the responsibility of NSS volunteers to bring voters from every house to the booth for voting. “Apart from this, people associated with election work and aware citizens also have a big responsibility. With the help of NSS volunteers the voting percentage will increase. This will bring glory to the state including Ranchi,” he added.

 

Kumar said that for voter awareness, there is a need to carry out registration for registering people's names in the voter list and sending voters to the booth on the day of polling. He said that it is your right to vote. Be sure to vote and encourage others to vote as well.

 

Ranchi University Vice Chancellor, Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha said that voting is not only our right but also our duty. Encouraging the NSS volunteers, he said that the fruits of your hard work will be visible on the day of voting. Giving examples of this from admit card distribution and examination, he said that cooperating with voters on the day of voting and getting them to vote as much as possible is like getting better marks. He said that you all are the future of the nation. Understand your duties and discharge them and inspire voters to vote.

 

Under the programme, voters were made aware by organizing various competitions including NSS Volunteer Rally, Poster Making Competition, Poetry Competition, Rangoli Competition, Mobile Rings Competition, Quiz etc. In the closing ceremony, the volunteers who stood first in various competitions were awarded. Controller of Examinations Ashish Kumar Jha, Dean of the Faculty of Student Welfare Sudesh Kumar Sahu, Program Officer of NSS, volunteers and professors of Ranchi University were present in the programme.
