Former MP Ramtahal Chaudhary, who joined Congress from BJP a month ago, has resigned from the Congress party. In a press conference held at the Press Club on Saturday, former MP Ramtahal Chaudhary said that the top Congress leader had made him join the party on the assurance of giving me a ticket in the Lok Sabha elections.
“I wanted to contest the election from Ranchi Lok Sabha seat. The Congress party kept it hanging for 15 days by talking about giving the ticket and at the last moment gave the ticket to someone else. This has hurt my dignity. I had not joined the party to carry a bag and a flag. Congress's victory was 100 per cent certain this time. But Congress has lost the winning game,” said Chaudhary.
He said that this time the people of Ranchi were going to vote for him in the Ranchi Lok Sabha elections. Ramtahal Chaudhary was the face of everyone. Rising above caste, I was going to get the support of all sections this time.
On the question of contesting the election as an independent, he said that I will contest the election from some party and not as an independent. For this, I will take a further decision after meeting with my workers and supporters.
Chaudhary said that many political parties have contacted me. He said that Ramtahal Chaudhary has progressed through struggle, not because of anyone's kindness. He has made BJP grow in Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency. People here understand that the lotus symbol means Ramtahal Chaudhary.
