The Vidya Gyan Leadership Academy invites application for admission for its 2018-19 academic session. Vidya Gyan is a free residential school for meritorious, economically underprivileged, rural students of Uttar Pradesh. Around 400 students are selected every year for admission to VidyaGyan after two rounds of competitive exams.
Admission process: The three-stage admission process at VidyaGyan constitutes:
- Preliminary written test in all districts of UP
- Written test for children shortlisted in the preliminary round
- Interaction with the selected students and their families.
Eligibility criteria: nApplicants should be studying in Grade V in a rural school
- As of 31st March 2019, the girls should be a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 12 years and the boys should be a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 11 years of age.
- Students should belong to rural, low-income households (with a combined family income of not more than Rs 1 lakh per annum).
Important dates: The deadline has been extended to October 31. The first round of examinations will be conducted on December 9, 2018.
Hotel Management
The Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, a leading hospitality management institution, invites application for admission to its Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in International Hospitality Management, available in Switzerland, Spain and China. The next intake is in February 2019.
It is an intensive one-year programme preparing students to launch their careers in the hospitality industry. The programme features one semester of full-time courses on campus with a field trip to Dubai, followed by a six-month internship. Upon successful completion of the course, students may directly enter the second semester of the MBA in Global Hospitality Management in Les Roches Switzerland.
Eligibility: Bachelor degree in any field. The minimum age criteria is 21 years. The candidate should have fluency in English and have IELTS: 6.0 score (minimum 5.5 in each section) or TOEFL: 550 points for the paper-based test or 80 for the online test or Cambridge English: First (FCE) grade A or Advanced (CAE) grade CA
