Essar Power has completed the Rs 8,000 crore capex cycle for 2x600 MW Mahan power project in Madya Pradesh. According to a press release issued by Essar Ranchi office, the unit of Mahan has been commissioned on October 10.
The release said the railway siding to receive both domestic coal from pithead mines, as well as imported coal has been completed and the Mahan plant is operating at full load with end-to-end coal sourcing, generation and evacuation infrastructure in place.
The second unit is supplied by Harbin Electric and is designed to perform at optimum efficiency with domestic coal from pithead mines in the region. The project will provide direct employment to about 250 people, and indirect employment to around 1,250 more, thus spurring ancillary development in the area, the release said.
