Nitish flags off bus service between India and Nepal

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Tuesday flagged off bus service between India and Nepal to facilitate better connectivity between important destinations of the two neighbouring countries.

At a function organised at "Samvad", the CM Secretariat, Kumar inspected the buses equipped with modern technology and facilities before flagging off the bus service, an official release said here.

Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) run buses would ply between Bodhgaya and Kathmandu and Patna and Janakpur, it said.

Transport Minister Santosh Kumar Nirala and department Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal presented memento(Pashupatinath temple) to the CM.

Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee Secretary Nangje Dorje and Chief Monk Chalinda offered 'angvastra' to the CM, the release said.

Artistes from Bihar and Nepal gave folk art performance before the CM on the occasion, it said.

Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included- Bihar State Disaster Management Authority member Uday Kant Mishra, Chief Secretary Dipak Kumar, CM's Principal Secretary Chanchal Kumar, CM's Secretary Manish Kumar Verma, Information and Public Relations Department Director Anupam Kumar, Patna District Magistrate Kumar Ravi, Budhist Bhikshus from Bodhgaya and a delegation from the Nepal.
