Colors’ most popular reality show Bigg Boss made a grand launch in Goa with Season 12. Salman Khan is back as the host who is set to introduce jodis to the Bigg Boss House this time. Sangeeta Yadav who travelled to the city tells you more

They say that jodis are made in heaven but there are some jodis that the Bigg Boss House will see in Season 12 with lots of drama, love, hate, fights and conspiracies. Taking the show to the new heights, Bigg Boss Season 12 is going to bring the double twist with its jodi theme.

As the host Salman Khan says: “Dono ke aise chatritra ho ki kul milake their jodi should be vichitra.” The mix of jodis has been selected on the basis of how interesting and fun the pair is, something that will grab a lot of attention.

The show is all set to hit the small screen with its grand launch on September 16, 2018 at 9 pm. The subsequent episodes will air from Monday-Friday at 10:30 pm and Weekend Ka Vaar with Salman Khan on Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm.

Grapevine has it that, like last year, this time too there will be 14 contestants including celebrities and common man. The jodis would be husband-wife, boyfriend-girlfriend, siblings and or even mother-son. Sallu Bhai will divide the contestants into jodis on the launch day.

 Talking about the kind of jodi one will get to see this season, Shital Iyer, non-fiction head, Colors, says: “You can expect all kinds of jodis. Not only blood relations but friends and colleagues as well. The jodis are going to be very interesting and fantastic. It will be fun to watch how they will face difficult or unpleasant circumstances that they will be put through. When they will stay together, there are bound to be conflicts.”

What makes this show a success is its format that gives you a sneak peek into the psychology of inmates who are put through tough situations. “Human beings are amazing. With a show like Bigg Boss, a lot of people take this show as a case study in human psychology. I know a lot of people and parents watch the show with their families. I get many mails from people who write to me that they want to go into the Big Boss House to discover themselves which is a fantastic thought,” Nayak says.

Not many people know that Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice for the host of Bigg Boss. “Before me, the one who was considered to be roped in was Shah Rukh. I got to know about this recently that he was the original choice. But he was shooting for a film and was also recovering from a shoulder injury and he couldn’t host the show. That’s when the channel reached out to me. I thank Colors and Shah Rukh for giving me Bigg Boss,” Khan says.

 One of the flagship shows of Colors, the show has contributed a lot to the success of the channel. “It is the biggest show in terms of finances, fundraising and creating buzz. I don’t think there is any other show that gets you the kind of popularity Bigg Boss does,” Raj Nayak, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18, tells you.

Though the show will concise the everyday happenings inside the Bigg Boss House to a one-hour episode, viewers will get to see the uncut footage and full versions of tasks, nominations, fights and drama through Unseen-Undekha on Voot.

The channel is also launching Season 2 of Bigg-Buzz — the digital extension of Bigg Boss which brings the entire social media universe onto one platform to discuss the weekly ongoing activities and events in the house.
