Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed land records (RoRs) to slum dwellers of eight districts under the Jaga Mission at a special programme held in Puri on Thursday. The CM handed over the RoRs to slum dwellers of the districts including Puri, Baleswar and Kendrapada. Sources said land pattas would be provided to highest 6,500 slums in Puri district. In Kendrapadra, 187 slums out of 594 beneficiaries were provided with the land records on Thursday. The programme aims at providing property rights to around 18 lakh urban slum residents in all municipalities and NACs in the State. The State Government has allocated Rs 100 crore for the programme during the 2018-19 financial year.
Under the programme, eligible beneficiaries will also get facilities like housing, drinking water, LED lights, toilets, etc.
