Coal India Foundation Day celebrated at CMPDI

CMPDI, a Mini-Ratna Company, celebrated the Coal India Foundation Day with full fervor on Sunday evening at Mayuri Hall, CMPDI. The Chief Guest of this occasion, AK Debnath, Ex-CMD, CMPDI stated the Coal Industry is unique in comparison toother industries by virtue of its being site specific and associated problems of  land acquisition and Rehabilitation & Resettlement during the entire life of project.

Further he said that future of coal industry is not bright in view of emission problem and have to diversify to sustain.

Though dependence on coal will continue in coming years due to its cheap availability and non- availability of other clean/renewable energy resource.

 Besides India, countries like Russia, China, Brazil, Indonesia, and South Africa are also heavily dependent on coal to meet their energy requirements. Ultimately we have to shift towards clean/renewable resource for which necessary actions are already in process.

On this occasion, Shekhar Saran, CMD, CMPDI outlined the achievements of CMPDI. CMPDI achieved CAGR of over 18 per cent in drilling from 2006-07.

 In addition to general consultancy services, CMPDI also providing services as Project Management Consultants for the Pre-Drainage Methane Project at Munidih Project of BCCL. He emphasized on diversification of activities in non-coal sectors in coming years.

Awards in different categories were given to the employees of CMPDI for excellent performance in their respective area of operation.

On this occasion, based on drill productivity, Anandwan Camp got the award for the best drilling camp and Murpar Camp –Second Best Camp in Mechanical drill category and Kosala Camp for highest productivity in hydrostatic-kores drill category.

Under the best drill crew category award (highest productivity), crew of Drill CM KME-1000-1of Durgapur Camp and crew of Drill no.CMKR-WAIII-07 of Singhpur Camp got the award for mechanical and hydrostatics-Kores drills, respectively. Additionally, crew of Drill no CM-AC-CT-14-4 of Kusmunda Camp got the award for best drilling crew for achieving highest productivity in Hydrostatic-Atlas Copco drill category, amongst all RIs.

For best performance in report preparation, awards were given to Uma Shankar Singh, Sr. Manager (Mining) and Sumit Datta, Manager (Mining)  for Opencast Report; Pramod Kumar, Sr. Manager (Mining) for Underground Report, A.K. Panda, GM(Geology) and his team for Geological Report, Amarjeet Singh for Environmental Services, Indranil Das for Infrastructural Planning. 

Anil Savanur and SwapnaliBasu got the award for outstanding performance in ‘Exploration’ and ‘Financial’ services, respectively. Pratibha Chandel got the award for outstanding performance in sports.

GM (Exploration) got the award for maximum value of outside consultancy jobs obtained in 2017-18.

 Awards for Innovation in technical category were given to Late Md. I.D Pathan, Rajneesh Kumar, A.K.Singh, Rakesh Ranjan, Hariharlal, Anindita Biswas, Apurva Das, Rituparna Roy, Pradip Kumar, Ram Krishna, P.K.Bisoi, V.K.Srivastava, Yaduventra Kumar, Rahul Saxena and Nilesh Kumar.

Under CSR, Regional Institute-I, Asansol, got the award for maximum utilization of CSR Budget in 17-18 and Regional Institute-VII, Bhubaneshwar got the award for maximum expenditure in remote areas, amongst all the RIs.On this occasion, B.N.Shukla, Director (T/CRD); A. K. Chakraborty, Director (T/ES); K.K. Mishra, Director (T/P&D), Ex-CMDs and Directors of Coal India family, members of JCC, representatives of CMOAI, Meeta Saran, President of kasturi Mahila Sabha and other reputed persons were also present.
