Friday, 14 December 2018 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand High Court today disposed of the case related to alleged faults in constitution of State Haj Committee following Advocate General (AG) submission that State government has decided to reconstitute the committee.

Justice Rajesh Shankar passed the order on Thursday on the petition filed by Salim Ali.

The petitioner had claimed that haj committee was not formed according to rules of Haj Committee Act 2002. He claimed that according to section 18 of the act three muslim members of local self government were to be appointed in the committee but this provision was not followed.

He said two intellectual muslims were made member instead of three prescribed in the act.

He also listed out several other mistakes in the constitution of the committee.

AG Ajit Kumar said that during the hearing he informed the court that in view of the issues raised by the petitioner the State government has decided to reconstitute the committee.
