Gwalior gets a facelift for CM’s roadshow

Thursday, 25 October 2018 | PNS | Gwalior

Gwalior had a pleasant and surprising facelift for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh’s roadshow, on Wednesday. Perhaps the Chief Minister should have more such roadshows considering the speed with which the pothole-filled roads have been repaired.

The non-operational streetlights too have been replaced or repaired and fresh coat of paint applied to road dividers.

Besides potholes, other arrangements were also made upto the mark. The local residents feel that the CM should visit the city at least once in a month to make the city beautiful.

The Chief Minster’s road show began from Morar at 2 pm will pass through the Bus Stand, Padav, Tansen Road, Daulatganj before concluding at Phool Bagh grounds for the meeting.

Top administrative and police officials, including Divisional Commissioner, Collector and SP held a meeting with other officials to discuss the security and other arrangements for the CM’s visit. The security cover for the high profile road show comprised of over 800 police personnel, apart from constables of the reserved and para-military forces.

For the visit of CM, the city roads were made free of roadside vendors selling vegetables, fruits and other items. The police officials had warned these vendors of strict action if they are seen on the roads during the road show.

Motorists travelling from Morar to Railway Station Road and Padav after 1 pm were advised to take alternative routes to reach their destinations.

They also cautioned the public there could be traffic blocks throughout the road show route and asked motorists to take other routes.
