Hunar Haat credible brand to redeem Modi's commitments

Hunar Haat’ has become a ‘credible brand’ to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to ‘Make in India’, ‘Stand up India’, ‘Start up India’, said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Union Minister of Minority Affairs while opening Hunar Haat at 38th India International Trade Fair (IITF) on Thursday.

“The employment oriented programmes of the Government such as 'Hunar Haat' have significantly boosted the rich traditional heritage of master artisans," the Minister said.

As per a statement released by his ministry, Hunar Haats across the country over a period of one year have been able to provide employment opportunities to over 1, 50,000 artisans and other people associated with them.

'Hunar Haat' has been successful in providing national and international markets and employment opportunities to master artisans and craftsmen," he said.

The statement said that the Hunar Haat at Pragati Maidan is offering an array of handicrafts and handloom such as ajarakh, bagh print, bandhej, copperware, ceramic products, among others.

Later in the day, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Giriraj Singh opened the pavilion of the ministry.

During inauguration ceremony, he said, "The quality manufacturing and inclusive growth of village industries plays a key role in the development of the country."

The Union Minister of State also inaugurated the Khadi Pavilion set up by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

Later, the Minister also clicked photographs with the statue of Mahatma Gandhi (Selfie with Gandhi) which is one of the main attractions in the pavilion.

As per some senior officials, around 50 MSME entrepreneurs are displaying their products at the pavilion, this time.

Apart from them, other schemes of the ministry are also exhibited in the pavilion. Besides this, women entrepreneurs, SC and ST entrepreneurs from North-Eastern States and minorities are participating in the Fair.
