International Kho Kho champion Sasmita Nath Sharma was felicitated at the State secretariat by State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Bishnu Charan Das on Saturday.
Sasmita has made India proud in general and Odisha in particular as she bagged the gold medal in the first International Kho Kho Championship held at Birmingham in London. Daughter of Kalyani Nath Sharma and Saroj
Kumar Nath Sharma, Sasmita hails from a remote village Gopiakuda of Tirtol block in Jagatsinghpur district and is a student of +3 Humanities of the AdiKabi Sarala Das Mahavidyalaya.
In a letter written to the sports-loving Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Bishnu Das has urged him to bless Sasmita along with State-sponsored financial support as a gesture of goodwill and as an act of encouragement to the sports star.
