For the prestigious post of the mayor of Dehradun Municipal Corporation, several employees’ unions, social organisations and statehood activists have declared the name of general secretary of Uttaranchal bank employees union Jagmohan Mehendiratta.

His candidature is being supported by 20 organisations, claimed those who attended a meeting held at Hindi Bhawan on the day during which the speakers said that with both BJP and Congress having done nothing for Dehradun, they are presenting a candidate with a clean image to contest the mayoral election here.  Mehendiratta was selected as the unanimous candidate of these organisations.

The convenor of Uttarakhand Mahila Manch and prominent statehood activist Kamla Pant said that Mehendiratta has a clean image and all the positive forces should work together to have him elected.
