Medicated mosquito nets to be distributed to 9 nodal points

In order to prevent mosquito-borne diseases in the State, 94.68 lakh medicated mosquito nets will be distributed in collaboration with the Central Government. Medicated mosquito nets are being delivered to nine nodal points for distribution including Bhopal, Betul, Dhar, Ratlam, Gwalior, Guna, Shahdol, Seoni and Panna. Arrangements are being made to deliver these mosquito nets at the development block level from these points.

Director Health Services Dr BN Chouhan informed that supply of the medicated mosquito nets in the state started from October 24. Nearly 6.12 lakh mosquito nets have been distributed in Bhopal division between October 27 and November 19 during the distribution work.

General Manager, Central Medical Services Society of the Central Government, Dr Rajesh Bajaj informed that the quality of all the nets will be checked randomly once they are delivered at the nodal point. This check will be carried out at the national level laboratory. These medicated mosquito nets will be distributed to users only when a standard level report is received.

Out of 9 nodal points made in the state, work of distribution of mosquito nets in 4 nodal points of Ratlam, Dhar, Guna and Betul has been completed. Total 72 pieces of the medicated mosquito nets in four nodal points have been sent to the test laboratory for quality test. Samples are being taken for quality testing of mosquito net in the remaining 5 nodal points. Quality testing takes 15 to 20 days on average. When standard level reports are received, arrangements will be made to distribute them among the users. The medicated mosquito nets can be used on an average up to 5 years.
