Miscreant snatches gold chain worth 2 lakh from woman

A 32-year-old woman was robbed of gold chain by a miscreant worth Rs  2 lakh at Swadesh Nagar under Ashoka Garden police station area in the night on Wednesday.

According to the police, Poonam Mangal was celebrating festival of Diwali outside her house and while she was busy bursting cracker a miscreant snatched gold chain she was wearing and escaped the spot.

The victim approached the police and lodged a complaint stating that she was celebrating Diwali with family and was standing outside her house. A miscreant came near and snatched the gold chain she was wearing and before she could understand miscreants escaped the spot with the gold chain.

In the robbery gold chain robbed was worth Rs  2 lakh claimed the victim. The incident took place at around 9 pm and at the time of the incident the residents were busy in festivities. The victims alerted locals but before she could be helped the miscreant escaped the spot. The victim claimed that the miscreant came walking and as it was time of festival many people visit the locality to meet their relatives due to which she remained inattentive and which proved costly. The victim has provided the description of the miscreant and based on the details police have registered a case against the unidentified miscreant.

The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
