In a daring robbery, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 3.32 lakh from a petrol pump owner at gunpoint just 50 metre from the Danagadi police outpost in the district on Monday.

However, police have begun an investigation following a complaint lodged by the petrol pump owner identified as Rajan Kumar Sahu (45), a native of Nihalprasad village in Dhenkanal district. Rajan owns Geeta petrol pump near Danagadi on Duburi-Jajpur road.

Source said when Rajan was on his way to deposit the cash at State Bank of India (SBI) near Military Chhak in the afternoon, three miscreants came on a bike and intercepted him.

The looters snatched the cash bag from Ranjan brandishing guns and fled towards Duburi.
