Chief Electoral Officer VL Kanta Rao has informed that work to add names of persons who are completing 18 years of age on January 01, 2019 in photo electoral roll for Lok Sabha Elections will be carried out under the special brief revision programme.
A format of electoral roll will be published on December 26, 2018. Claims and objections will be received through BLO till January 25, 2019. Redressal of claims and objections will be done by the concerned election registration officer till February 11, 2019. The final electoral roll will be published on February 22, 2019. Work of Lok Sabha Elections will be done based on this electoral roll.
CEO Rao apprised political parties about the special brief revision programme. It has been expected from the political parties that they will appoint booth level agent at every polling booth so that transparency and cooperation can be received in regeneration of electoral roll.
Rao has appealed all the voters that they should also confirm entry of their names in the electoral roll themselves and apply in the prescribed format to the concerned BLO in case of any kind of amendment.
Common voters can search their names in the electoral roll by visiting Commission’s website www.nvwp.in and can also obtain information about their names and polling booths by SMS facility on number 51969 through mobile phones.
People are required to send SMS to by registering MP EPIC <Epic number of voter> on 51969.
Work to add names of all the eligible voters, who are completing 18 years of age on January 01, 2019 or names of any voter excluded or deleted from the electoral roll due to any reason will be done during the brief revision programme.
