A three-day workshop titled ‘Mathematical awareness about core topics of calculus, algebra and analysis’ under the aegis of Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) culminated at Government PG College, Uttarkashi on Thursday.
The scientist of USERC, Rajendra Singh Rana said that workshop was organised on the directive of USERC director Durgesh Pant to raise the interest of the students of the mountainous areas in mathematics. He added that these workshops are being organised in all parts of the State by USERC with the help of Centre of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences (CEMS) Almora.
On the last day of the workshop on Thursday, the coordinator of CEMS, Sanjay Pant explained Algebra in details to the students. The faculty of Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, E K Narayan explained various methods to solve questions of calculus.
The principal of the college M P Tiwari said that it was of immense help to the students. Over 150 students of the Government colleges of Uttarkashi, Badkot and Purola participated in the workshop.
