Yogi promises ration card to all

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday claimed that no family in the state would be deprived of a ration card. He said that those families, who were left so far, would be provided ration card soon. Addressing a gathering after reaching Gorakhpur on Saturday morning, Yogi said that his government was ensuring that every poor got cheap foodgrains and hence ration cards were being provided to them. Later, in the day, the CM announced 36 schemes worth over Rs 67 crore in the district.

Yogi said that families coming under Antyoday had also been provided ration cards.

The Chief Minister added that after coming to power in March 2017, the BJP chalked out several schemes for the benefit of poor families.

With the help provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his government had provided cheap house to 11 lakh families living in rural areas while 4 lakh poor families in urban areas also got benefited. “We formulated a policy that patients suffering from leprosy would be provided a house by the state government. I assure you that every poor will have a house in the state,” asserted Yogi. He handed over keys to 150 families who were given houses under Aasra Awas Yojna or Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna.

Asserting that there was no substitute to development, Yogi said that by the beginning of the next year, Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) of AIIMS in Gorakhpur would start functioning while MBBS classes would begin from 2020 academic year onwards.

The CM also informed that by October, work for eight new super speciality wards in BRD Medical College would be completed and services would be also forwarded to the public from November. Yogi also stressed on completing of other projects on time beside maintaining high standard. “Delay in projects not only leads to increase in cost but also results in a compromise in quality,” he said.

Yogi, who left for Gorakhnath temple to attend weekly ‘Ram Katha Yogya’, will stay in the district on Saturday night. On Sunday, the CM will officially launch ‘Ayushman Bharat’ health insurance scheme for the poor from Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Gorakhpur, while Union Home minister Rajnath Singh will launch the health benefit scheme in Lucknow.
