Two unidentified terrorists were killed in an ecounter in Mujgund area of Srinagar outskirts on Srinagar Bandipora road on Saturday evening.
Three security personnel were also wounded in the gunfight who have been shifted to military hospital.
The gunfight broke out soon after a joint team of security forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Mujgund area after inputs about the presence of terrorists.
Security sources said that bodies of slain terrorists are yet to be retrieved. They said there was input about presence of two to three terrorists in the area.
Local reports said that a house where terrorists were hiding was damaged during the operation. A couple of other residential houses were reported to have been damaged during the counter terrorist operation.
Meanwhile, reports of intense clashes were received near the gunfight site after locals staged protests to disrupt the anti-terrorist operation. Youths resorted to stone pelting in the area.
