AIMA, a management body in India has tied up with Paytm, for accepting Management Aptitude Test (MAT) applications from students for admission to MBA and PGDM courses. It will make registering for MAT easier and faster by allowing applicants to complete the entire process through Paytm app with multiple payment options. MAT as a national level test approved by Ministry of HRD, Government of India, to facilitate Business Schools to screen candidates for admission to MBA/PGDM and allied programs.

The tie-up with Paytm extends MAT’s reach, especially in small towns. Paytm app facilitates entire MAT registration process from filling the form to its submission and payment. The app also notifies the applicants about MAT schedule and other useful information through in-app messages, push notifications and SMS.

Paytm has placed a prominent MAT icon under education category on its app to access MAT registration function. The process of registration has been made simple and it allows filling of the form flexible. Applicants can fill in the details they readily have and save the form for editing and completion later. The interface for payment allows multiple options including debit and credit cards, net banking, UPI and Paytm wallet. Applicants can mention their choice of B-School and they can also select the mode of test, as MAT is offered in both the paper and the computer-based formats.

Currently, more than 600 B-Schools in the country use MAT scores to admit students in management courses. MAT has been in use since 1988 and it has extensive national reach, including in small towns and it is held four times a year to give flexibility to students from states with different academic years. MAT scores are valid for one year. Many B-Schools and universities offer scholarships to students with high MAT scores.

Sanjeev Phatak, Director, Centre for Management Services, AIMA, said: “With this partnership, MAT becomes a part of digital market place. We believe that more and more aspiring candidates will take advantage of this new and innovative feature and register for MAT through Paytm.”

Vineet Kaul, Sr Vice President at Paytm Education said: “Paytm will play a significant role enabling as well as facilitating students throughout their academic journey. Our partnership with AIMA and launch of MAT Application Form on Paytm is a significant first milestone in this direction. We are excited about this partnership and believe Paytm & AIMA will reach out to a much larger audience helping them participate in the MAT Examinations.”
